SmartHelmet & the SmartHelmet App

The idea behind the SmartHelmet device is to be able to detect a potentially harmful bike accident and call for assistance.
The solution consists of two parts, a small device embedded in the biker's helmet and a smartphone application.
The device is using Bluetooth to live-stream the data from its accelerometer to the application running in the background of the smartphone.
The app analyses the data and detects any behaviour that would suggest an accident. In case of an emergency, a report is sent to the server, including the GPS location of the accident, while the server can not only call the emergencies, but also notify nearby users for assistance.
